Traditional Chinese Medicine

Ancient Wisdom with a modern approach.

Hi, I’m Christine and I’m an AHPRA registered Acupuncturist and a Chinese Herbal Medicine practitioner and dispenser.

I’m passionate about helping people achieve their health goals with Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Where relevant, I like to take an integrative approach to patient care. Here I use both pathology and hormone testing to identify any imbalances, along with your health history and the physical symptoms you may be presenting with.

Who do I work with?

Over the last few years I have worked with clients with a variety of differing symptoms and imbalances.

Here are just a few examples:

  • stress, anxiety, overwhelm and burnout

  • support through pregnancy

  • preconception and fertility support

  • long covid

  • digestive complaints such as IBS

  • recurrent coughs, colds and lowered immunity

  • chronic fatigue

  • perimenopause and menopause

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Chronic pain, acute pain and stubborn injuries

  • Menstrual health and support for endometriosis, adenomyosis and PCOS

  • Pelvic inflammatory disease

  • Thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis

My services

Japanese Acupuncture

The Japanese style of Acupuncture is both gentle and powerful. Many gravitate towards this style as the needles are small and it is mostly a pain free style of needling. People will often report immediate relaxation and then a subtle shift and amelioration and improvement of symptoms both immediately and in the days following the treatment.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine can be used alone or alongside Acupuncture for a variety of differing conditions and symptoms. We commonly use herbs for support with fertility, gynaecological symptoms, fatigue, postpartum support and recovery from illness, pain, stress, sleep and much, much more. Chinese herbal medicine used alongside Acupuncture and the correct nutritional and lifestyle advice, may help you to feel better sooner.

Chinese Herbal Medicine consults are also offered to support your health via telehealth.

Cupping & Moxibustion

Cupping can be used to promote circulation, relaxation, reduce muscle tension, inflammation and promote health. It should be noted that cupping may sometimes result in light to dark areas or marks where applied, but this usually disappears within the week.

Mobile cupping - is much like a massage with oil, where the cups will be moved and massaged along the meridians on the back.

Moxibustion (aka moxa) may be used in your treatment, where indicated. This technique can help with pain and cold in the body, as well as helping to increase energy. It is gentle and subtle and often has a mild herbal fragrance.

Preconception Care & Fertility

I offer preconception care for women preparing for conception and pregnancy. We recommend taking time to prepare and care for your body. This includes, regulating your cycle and hormones, as well as taking a thorough look at your health and other factors that may be impacting on optimal fertility for yourself (and your partner if relevant). And yes, we offer support for men too. Treatments include Acupuncture, Herbal medicine, supplements, nutritional and lifestyle advice that is tailored to you. Acupuncture is available for support with both natural conception and Assisted Reproductive Technology (IVF/ IUI/ ICSI).

Women’s Health

I offer support for a range of differing symptoms and imbalances that may be experienced throughout a woman’s life. For example, PCOS, endometriosis, adenomoysis, fibroids, period pain, irregular periods, perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, hormonal headaches and migraines, hot flashes, insomnia, anxiety, low energy and fatigue.

Pain

Acupuncture is probably most well known for its role and success in relieving and managing pain. Both acute and chronic pain, as well as muscle tension and recovery from injury can impact on quality of life significantly. Pregnancy and Postpartum

The physiological demands of pregnancy can be a lot for many women. Acupuncture and TCM offers wonderful support to women throughout pregnancy. From the early stages of first trimester with morning sickness, fatigue, to pelvic pain, reflux, lower back pain and muscle tension as well as helping with optimal positioning and labour preparation in later pregnancy.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine is another way in which women can support their bodies postpartum. Helping to build mum up again, to restore and support her body and energy for the change that is new motherhood.

Health and Wellbeing

In today’s modern and busy world it can be hard to stay on top of it all and also feel 100 percent all the time. Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine offers wonderful support to our bodies in times of stress, illness, afterwards and as a preventative. Acupuncture and TCM may help with symptoms of burnout, fatigue, insomnia, digestive imbalances such as from IBS, as well as support for other chronic and autoimmune conditions that may exacerbate with increased or prolonged stress. Incorporating Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine into your self care or health routine may be of benefit for you or a loved one.
